Fishin' in the Keys -- Again!

December 2018

Well, Kay and I are back in Key Largo waiting for the others from OBAC to arrive. The weather has been almost perfect. Temperature mid-70's to mid-80's, low humidity. It has been quite windy though.

Fishing has been limited for us because we are becoming choosy in our old age. No sense getting bumped around and hurt, so we pick our days. So far — 9 Blackfin Tuna, one Hogfish (not big enough, but season closed anyway), 2 Porgies, 8 Little Tunies (bait), and a nice Mahi Mahi.

The "Keys Strong”  people have been hard at work coming back from Irma. Foliage is blooming and damage repairs are being completed, and most of the closed resorts are back in full swing. For us a big surprise is that our favorite restaurant, the Square Grouper, which is on Cudjoe Key, is opening a second location up close to us in Islamorada. Yippee!

So you all, come on down!

Happy Tales/Tails to you,

- OBAC Members Kay and Sam UHLER -
