Beautiful weather, beautiful clear green water = great fishing day with friends.
Bob RICKABAUGH & I started out at 7:30 a.m. at the soon to be ex-Frisco Pier. Our target was Specs & Pups, but we were almost at low tide and the bite was off. So, we moved to Cape Pt. for the incoming tide. There we caught Blues (not our target), Flounder and only one Spec.
However, the Red Drum bite was on. We already had a 24" Red in the cooler. I had just caught the 26" Red (shown in my left hand) and had him in the cooler for a few minutes, when this double-hitter of 24" Reds hit,- which we promptly released!
I kept a few of the snapper Blues for "Fish Tacos", you need to try that if you have not, they're great!
Also, hooked up with a very big shark. I thought he was going to spool me, but I was able to get him turned. Then he broke-off when I pulled him over the sand bar. That pretty much wore me out and we both went home tired & happy.
Surf fishing should remain good thru December. If you have put your boat up, give this a try.
